As a young, up-and-coming chef, owner Jason Cichonski wanted a high end and yet accessible atmosphere for his latest and most personal endeavor. Ela, located in the Queen Village area of Philadelphia, is a 75 seat bar and restaurant whose interior lends itself to the hip sensibility that owner/chef Cichonski brings to his food. Stokes Architecture created an identity and, ultimately an interior scheme based on 2 parameters; a small budget and a few nonspecific reference images provided by the client. The result is a warm yet industrial interior spotted with quirky design elements that create an intimate and unique dining experience.
